About Creative Academies

In the Creative Academies students learn 21st century skills that combine creativity and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) in fun and innovative ways. We utilize the latest trends in digital media (video game design, computer animation) to encourage students to learn complex math and computer programming ideas, with kid friendly languages and methods.

We feel learning should be an adventure. Kids should feel passionate and empowered as they create in new ways.

We are an organization that offers classes, museum exhibitions, and other approaches to learning using cutting-edge digital media. We combine creativity and the arts with STEM (Science, Technology Engineering and Math). Although our students show excellent progress in standardized tests, we do not rely upon drill-and-practice or “teaching towards tests”. Rather, our students learn through doing original creative work. Our courses emphasize 21st century literacy and higher order thinking skills. We accommodate a variety of different learning styles. We offer a variety of courses called the Creative Academies. Creative Academies gives elementary, middle, and high school students the opportunity to innovate through creating their own software, such as educational games, simulations, animations, web sites and more. While working on their original technology projects, students learn 21st century workforce skills and entrepreneurship.

The courses we have offered in public and private schools have been consistently oversubscribed, and highly ranked by the students and faculty. As noted in our attached testimony from students and teachers, the enthusiasm is very high for these courses.

Here at Creative Academies our staff is dedicated to empowering students by using digital media programs to help them learn the 21st century skills that they will need for rewarding, creative careers. Our staff is a mixture of college students and game industry veterans, who are dedicated to passing on their knowledge and inspiring the next generation of creative thinkers and problem solvers.
